16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence
South Western TAFE, Warrnambool, 10 November 2024
The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based violence is an international program highlighting that violence against women is the most pervasive breach of human rights world wide. Across the world, women, government, community sector and corporations come together to participate in activities that protest, advocate, educate and unite to end violence against women and girls.
Silver Threads and Golden Needles partnered with the Student Wellbeing team at South West TAFE in Warrnambool to host a demonstration project of Silver Threads and Golden Needles. We were well supported by Warrnambool library who provided meeting space, and the staff and students who participated reflected that they loved having an opportunity to share space and time with other women to discuss serious issues that impact their lives, and find ways to advocate for change.
